2. How to Make a Reservation

~ About Reservations at Various Medical Institutions (Your Usual Doctor) ~

In addition to making reservations online, people who are hospitalized or regularly visit the hospital for chronic conditions in Kumamoto City that have been assessed as priority cases to receive the vaccine may be able to make a reservation at various medical institutions (their regular doctor).

This has been put in place to vaccinate people who are most at risk of serious infection first, so we ask for your understanding.

People who are hospitalized or visit the hospital regularly should ask their medical institution (their regular doctor) about this. (Please reference the List of Medical Facilities Administering Vaccinations)

(1) Make a Reservation with Your Regular Doctor

There are many medical facilities in Kumamoto City that will vaccinate people thanks to medical institutions such as the Kumamoto City Physicians' Association & Yamaga Physicians' Association.

First, please talk with a representative of the medical institution you usually visit about the vaccine.

【Details You Should Ask Your Doctor About】

・What you should be aware of when you get vaccinated

・Whether the medical institution will be administering the vaccine

・(If they are administering the vaccine) how can you make an appointment

Furthermore, you must receive two doses of the coronavirus vaccine.

The second dose must be taken 21 days after you receive your first dose.

When you make a reservation to receive the first dose, make sure you know how to make a reservation for the second dose.

(2) Online Reservations

Please make an online reservation at the Vaccination Homepage新しいウインドウで(外部リンク). (Japanese only)

You do not have to make a reservation for the second dose of the vaccine if you are making your reservation online.

Your appointment for the second dose of the vaccine will be made by the Systems Management Office, and you will be informed of the date for your second dose on paper and on MyPage.

(3) Make a Reservation Through the Call Center

Toll-Free Phone Number for Vaccine Reservations

0120-096-885
0120-096-885

Hours: 8:30 AM ~ 7:00 PM (also open Weekends and Holidays)

Please be aware that you cannot make a vaccination reservation at city hall or ward offices

※ In order to ensure that the phone lines to emergency like the police and fire departments are open, phone companies have set limits on phone calls to municipal bodies that are making vaccine reservations.

Because of these limits, your call with the vaccine call center may be cut off, and they may request that you call back later.

Please set aside some time to call, or if you can ask a family member or a friend to make a reservation for you, please make a reservation online.

※ Some residents have called the wrong number when trying to contact the vaccine reservation phone number.

Please make sure you have the proper phone number so you don't misdial.

Services are available in English, Chinese, Korean, Vietnamese, and Tagalog.

3. Reservation Schedule

Future changes to the reservation schedule will be announced via the Kumamoto City Official Website or the Shiseidayori Newsletter.

We predict that the making a reservation will continue to be difficult, but all of Kumamoto's residents will have access to the vaccine so we ask for your patience and that you make a reservation when it is possible.

The Vaccination Process

People Qualified to Get the Vaccine

Any registered resident of Kumamoto City that is over the age of 16 (including foreign residents)

※If you are not a registered resident of Kumamoto City but have been hospitalized at a Kumamoto City facility for a long period of time or are receiving care for a chronic/underlying condition from a Kumamoto City physician, you can be vaccinated in Kumamoto City if you would like.

Before You Get the Vaccine

To get vaccinated, you must have a "Vaccine Ticket & Pre-Examination Form," which will be sent to everyone who qualifies for a vaccine, and a prior made appointment.

(1)  Receiving a Vaccine Ticket & Pre-Examination Form

We have been mailing out Vaccine Tickets & Pre-Examination Forms to qualified recipients in successive waves since the end of April.

We will send these to everyone with a registered Certificate of Residence in stages, so it may be a long time before you receive yours.

Those older than 65 (as of March 31, 2022)

Those with chronic or underlying conditions

Other High-Risk Individuals

※ In order to maximize the vaccine's effect, you must receive a second dose of the same vaccine after a set amount of time.

When you receive your first dose, please confirm when you can receive the next vaccine.

※ There should also be a page in the same package as your Vaccine Ticket that is for your second dose and proof of vaccination certificate.

※Each time you receive a dose, please bring all of the documents without cutting or removing pages.
