A commemorative song was created to help promote interest in the 4th Asia-Pacific Water Summit among young people. The song combines a melody by Akari Aso (2nd-year junior high school student) with lyrics by Suzu Koga (3rd-year high school student), who won the Water Summit Commemorative Song Submission Contest.
We hope you’ll listen to “Water for Our Flowers, Our Dreams” and help make the Water Summit a rousing success!
Lyricist’s Comment:When choosing the lyrics for this song, I thought about how we use water in our daily lives, where it comes from, and how much it does for us. Water is always all around us and it’s easy to take it for granted. So, these lyrics express that water is a finite resource that we should use carefully and avoid wasting, and that by re-using water, it can continue to be of use to someone else.
