Kumamoto City, Home of the Richest Groundwater in Japan “Aso Megumi Waters”
At the open space in front of the west exit of Kumamoto Station, or the exit from the Shinkansen Line, there is a water fountain to provide fresh groundwater, which represents Kumamoto to the visitors.
Enjoying cold water at the fountain here, visitors can have a fresh start to their tour.

"Mizu Temari, Water Temari" Fukuda Hospital
This recreational water monument is laid out in the space of Fukuda Hospital in Shin-machi. The spherical monument symbolizes Kumamoto's plentiful water and traditional Higo Temari handball. The sphere also symbolizes the new lives born in the Fukuda Maternity Hospital. Mist is spouting from inside of the sphere, which is the image of a handball made of fog.

Ideta Group Gofuku-machi Clinic
The Western-style fountain is laid out on the premise of the Ideta Group's Gofuku-machi Clinic. There are benches beside the fountain, and the space is open to local residents and visitors for their time of relaxation.
